I actually decided to buy the QRM 400 massaging cushion for my wife. I am lucky in that i don't suuffer with back problems, however, my wife does.

A friend at work has a herniated disk, and he has gotten relief by using the Homedics QRM 400. So, I went online and discovered that Amazon.com has theQRM 400, and it is available at a huge discount. So, I ordered it, and got free shipping as well!

It arrived in a big box together with a good sized AC power brick, and an imposing instruction manual. Setup was a breeze, and it wasn;t long before I was testing the cushion. I simply took out a small screw with an Allen wrench and then hooked it up to the juice!

The QRM 400 is heavier than I expected. My gosh, it almost weighs as much as a chair itself. According to the manual, it attaches to almost any chair. The QRM400 is roughly 16-17 inches wide and the back is about 26 inches tall. The unit features integrated straps on the back of the cushion which allow you to attach it to the back of your selected chair.

Personally, I tried it on a couch, recliner and computer chair. However I liked it most attached to my slider rocker.

The central section of the QRM 400 is covered in black pleather, which is really a nice vinyl that appears to be leather. Also, the white area is made of a transparent mesh fabric. A big rectangular shaped strip of vinyl material is included to place`over the mesh area. It is secured with a Velcro strip on the back of the cushion

I plugged the AC adapter into the wall, and, much to my surprise, the 4 rollers lit up beneath the see through mesh! What a cool effect! Unfortunately, the vinyl fabric will hide it from view.

The Homedics QRM 400features a remote control attached to the unit by a cable. With it, you can access all the massage programs and other functions.

The QRM 400 has two types of massaging motions available, a Rolling massage and a Shiatsu massage. Shiatsu massage started in Japan and translated, it means, "finger pressure.".

i soon discovered that you need to remember to press the Power button to "power up" any of the cushion's features. I am not sure why, because The cushion is already powered on as soon as you plug it in.

I began my trial by playing around with the Width button. With it, I can move the rollers in or out depending on what feels the best to me. After I finished adjusting the width, I selected "rolling massage", settled back, and let the QRM 400 work it's magic!

As I stated in the beginning of this QRM 400 review, I don’t suffer from back problems. Even so, I had to check the cushion out, just to see what the sensation was like… I thought that the Rolling massage quite gentle, and very relaxing. The Shiatsu massage, on the other hand, was more vigorous and I liked it even more!
